Abdullah Eren
Born in 1984 in Istanbul, Abdullah Eren holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Boğaziçi University and a master’s degree in Diplomacy Studies from the University of Westminster. He began his career in the private sector before serving as Deputy Chief of Staff at the Turkish Prime Ministry and Advisor to the Prime Minister, eventually taking on the role of Senior Advisor to the President.
Eren was first appointed to lead the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) by Presidential Decree on October 27, 2018, and was reappointed to the position on August 11, 2023.
During his tenure at YTB, he spearheaded initiatives serving the Turkish diaspora of over 7 million citizens living abroad, as well as kin and related communities spanning the Balkans, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Middle East, and North Africa, including groups with Ottoman heritage. He also oversaw programs supporting international students from around the world studying in Türkiye.
Deeply engaged in civil society activities, Eren has taken on active roles in NGOs focused on issues related to the Balkans.
Fluent in English, Abdullah Eren is married and the father of two children.
