Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar
Born in 1985 in Istanbul, Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar completed her secondary education at Kadıköy Imam Hatip High School with a focus on foreign languages. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Indiana University. Following her undergraduate studies, she pursued Arabic language education at the University of Jordan and completed her master’s degree in Social Policy at the London School of Economics, specializing in NGOs and Development.
In Ankara, Bayraktar worked as a specialist at the Statistical, Economic, and Social Training and Research Centre (SESRIC), an affiliate of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. She also served as a volunteer political advisor to then-Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and as an advisor to the Chairperson of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party).
Currently, she serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Women and Democracy Foundation (KADEM), an organization she helped establish.
Sümeyye Erdoğan Bayraktar is married and the mother of two children.
